The Peps Story

In 2005-2006, Coimbatore witnessed a pivotal moment in the mattress industry. A factory stood for sale, brimming with potential but shrouded in doubt. This was the beginning of an audacious journey for the trio headed by Mr. Manjunath & two of his friends and Partners Mr. K. Madhavan and G. Shankar Ram. While over 70% of the world's developed & developing countries are using innerspring mattresses, most of the star hotels across the globe specifically India was only using innerspring mattresses, over 23 million Indian nationals departed on outbound travels from India & equal numbers are coming to India, they see no other mattresses mostly than Spring Mattresses. India had yet to embrace the innovation of spring mattresses, clinging to the familiarity of cotton, coir, and Foam.

 

Pep Innerspring was a disruptive innovation in the Indian mattress industry to be precise. Despite the above fact, the market echoed doubts about an unknown product spring & a young brand Peps — were they uncomfortable? Expensive? High maintenance? Fit for Back support. Peps knew they had a challenge: to make every customer see springs as a gateway to blissful sleep. The greatest challenge, however, was not the market's reluctance but its apathy towards investing in sleep itself. Yet, within this challenge lay the allure of possibility. Peps Leadership committed themselves to a mission: to educate, to advocate, and to transform the very culture of sleep. Thus began a crusade to redefine the mattress experience, from debunking sleep myths to unveiling the intricacies of mattress technology.

 

Peps ventured where others hesitated, breaking barriers, and cultivating a vision of sleep as not just a necessity but a sanctuary of comfort, health, and security. They partnered with one of America's largest brands " Restonic" of Restonic Corporation of the USA on a long-term license agreement for 30 years, perhaps the only Indian Mattresses manufacturing brand. This has further strengthened their promise of "Reliability & Quality" In their inaugural year 2006/7, Peps crafted a modest 8,700 mattresses. Yet, by 2013-14, this figure soared to a staggering 1.48 lakh, heralding a revolution in Indian sleep culture. Today, Peps Industries Private Limited not only created a category of Metal Springs in the Industry but stands as a " Leader" of India's largest-selling spring mattress brand a beacon of customer-centric innovation. Producing over 3 lakh spring mattresses and with a turnover of Rs.325 crore only in the spring segment, with over 1250 dedicated employees, 6,000 retail partners, and 150 large format Experience Centers a retail brand called Great Sleep Stores, Peps has become synonymous with trust and quality in the mattress industry. But for Peps, innovation is at the core of Management, they were the first in the country to come up with " Memory Foam Backed " Spine guard mattresses, the flagship product that assures " End Of Your Backache", they are the first in the country with their 100% comfort organic mattresses " Organica" with this is just the beginning.

 

Their latest innovation is " Italiano" mattresses styled with Italian comforts & support exclusively made for their retail stores GSS. They dream of reaching even more customers and enriching lives with the promise of better sleep. With each new partnership and every innovation, Peps takes another step towards its ultimate goal: ensuring every customer wakes up feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world.
